ON April 15, 2024, a massive and enthusiastic public meeting of the INDIA bloc was held at Khagaria in Bihar after the CPI(M)-INDIA candidate Sanjay Kumar submitted his election nomination form earlier in the day. Red flags of the Left, green flags of the RJD, tricoloured flags of the Congress, adorned the venue in large numbers. All the constituent parties had mobilised well for this occasion.

The public meeting of thousands of people coming from all over the constituency was addressed by RJD leader Tejaswi Yadav, CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Ashok Dhawale, CPI(M) Lok Sabha candidate and state secretariat member Sanjay Kumar, RJD leader Manohar Yadav, Congress leader Chhatrapati Singh, CPI leader Om Prakash Narayan, CPI(ML) leader Umesh Singh, several local MLAs, ex-MLAs, and other influential leaders.

All the speakers came down heavily on the anti-people, pro-corporate, corrupt, communal, and authoritarian character of the BJP central government led by Narendra Modi. They also severely castigated the chronic ‘Palturam’ Nitish Kumar and his thoroughly opportunist and unprincipled somersaults, which have now destroyed his credibility.

The CPI(M) state leadership present included Central Committee members Lalan Choudhary (state secretary), Awadhesh Kumar, and A R Sindhu, state secretariat members Ajay Kumar MLA, Sarvodaya Sharma, Shyam Bharati, Vinod Kumar, Rampari, P N Rao, Ahmed Ali, Bhola Prasad Diwakar, and state committee member Satyendra Yadav MLA, among many others.

In the night, the CPI(M) Bihar state secretariat meeting was held in the presence of Ashok Dhawale. It took stock of the work done for this election since the Party’s state committee meeting held at Patna on March 22, decided on the concrete future tasks, especially stepping up on the fund drive, and fine-tuned the division of responsibilities for this Lok Sabha election.
