Karnataka: Elect Those Who Work for People: CPI(M) Leaders

The voice of those who work for the people should resonate in the Lok Sabha. Therefore, CPI(M) candidate Munivenkattapa should be elected by the working people, said CPI(M) Central Committee member K Hemalata.

She addressed a public meeting held in Nelamangala to campaign for the Party's Lok Sabha candidate for the Chikkaballapura Lok Sabha constituency. This constituency comprises three assembly constituencies of Chikkaballapura district, along with four constituencies from Bengaluru Rural and one from Bengaluru Urban Districts.

Party candidate Munivenkattapa, Party state secretary U Basavaraja, secretariat members S Varalakshmi, Syed Mujeeb, leaders Subbanna, Narasimhamurthy, and many others also participated in the campaign meetings. Hemalata also addressed a meeting in Doddaballapura.

Rural folk, workers, peasants, and dalits have been suffering under BJP rule for the past 10 years. CPI(M)’s representation in parliament is essential to fight for schemes like MGNREGA and PDS, and to raise a voice against the privatisation of education and healthcare. The BJP is intent on altering the constitution and undermining its core values such as secularism, democracy, and social justice. It is a communal and corrupt party, while the Congress also implements neo-liberal policies. Hence, the presence of the CPI(M) in parliament is crucial, said Brinda Karat, CPI(M) Polit Bureau member.

She addressed a large public meeting in Bagepalli, which is part of the Chikkaballapura Lok Sabha constituency, in support of Munivenkatappa, the CPI(M) candidate. U Basavaraj and K N Umesh, CPI(M) Central Committee members, along with district leaders including Chandra Tejaswi, Siddagangappa, Dr Anil Kumar, Savithramma, Jayaramareddy, Raghurama Reddy, and Oblesh Raju, as well as the candidate, participated in the campaign meeting.
