Seven Left Parties in Delhi to Contest Assembly Elections Jointly
LEADERS of Delhi units of seven Left parties- Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist)- Liberation, All India Forward Bloc, Socialist Unity Centre of India (Communist), Revolutionary Socialist Party and Socialist Party-India held a meeting on January 13 and decided to contest the forthcoming Delhi assembly elections jointly. The following is the statement that they issued:
The major political parties of Delhi – BJP, Congress and AAP – have completely failed to provide any viable solution or policy framework to address the basic issues faced by the people of Delhi in their daily lives. All these parties are busy announcing free sops to the people and mudslinging aimed at each other. The reality is that the problems related to livelihood, water, electricity, health, education and housing will remain unsolved until and unless the government is willing to abandon the anti-people path of the current neo-liberal policy regime. The Left parties have come together to put forth the alternate policy framework and understanding on these basic issues.
The Left parties will plunge into the campaign along with their alternate policy perspective. Seats and candidates of the Left parties will also be announced soon.
