Withdraw Ordinance: Scrap the Decision of Central Takeover of Cooperative Banks

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued the following statement on June 25THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) condemns the unilateral decision by the  central government to take over the supervision of 1540 urban and  rural cooperative banks through an ordinance.This decision has been taken without consulting any of the elected  state governments when the cooperative sector including banks are  supervised by the state governments. This is yet another attack on our country’s federal structure.

Act Urgently on ICMR Recommendations

CPI(M) Polit Bureau has issued  the following statement on April 26THE Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) expresses its deep concern over the media reports which refer to growing unease of our scientific community including members of the high-powered task force under ICMR.The report of the internal discussion along with the actual minutes of such discussions brought out in public domain, clearly point out that the lockdown will not halt, but at best temporarily suppress the spread of the virus.
